Steel Drum Info
Information about Steel Drums
The instrument we call “Steel Drums,” was invented in Trinidad & Tobago. Most people from the Caribbean call the instrument “Steel Pan,” or “Pan.”
When people hear the word “drum,” they think of loud music. Steelband music can be loud – especially a large group. However, the pan, when played by someone with skills, can be soft and relaxing. Some actually call it a “Steel Piano.”
We adapt our volume to whatever the situation requires.
